Missing checkbox to remember passwords on Mint-Y (gcr-prompter) #550

Open

Description

@BartyT2

The gcr-prompter dialog has an option to remember passwords, but the checkbox isn't being rendered.
However, it IS navigateable with TAB, and can be toggled on/off as expected, it seems to be only visually missing.

Repro:

  1. Create a new SSH key with password
  2. Try to use the new SSH key to trigger the prompt
  3. Press TAB to cycle between the inputfield, the invisible checkbox, and the two buttons.

System info: Linux Mint 22.3

    Confirmed on Linux Mint 22.3, Cinnamon 6.6.9, mint-themes 2.3.8, Mint-Y-Dark. The prompt comes from Cinnamon's own keyringPrompt.js, which uses the CheckBox2 widget (.check-box-2); no Mint-Y variant styles that class, so the indicator has zero size. Switching temporarily to Cinnamon's default desktop theme makes the box visible.

    #559 fixes Mint-Y. Note that all Mint-L variants (mint-l-theme package) have the same problem; I opened a separate report there: linuxmint/mint-l-theme#28
