Preserve the published CA patch, wheel helper invocation, and private pinned pytest environment. Remove committed conflict markers, duplicate test flows and duplicate changelog entries. Branch from #19725 and replace only the check section with the exact October12 implementation from #19199. Keep all CA and embedded-wheel fixes unchanged. This is a what-if comparison, not a production release; retain NVR and changelog to isolate the test-bootstrap change. What-if comparison only - do not merge
Stacked on #19725. This experiment replaces only
python-virtualenv.spec's%checksection with Kanishk's October 12 implementation from #19199 (commit6fa9b9e9528df79482a4ba850cd15261169d3169).packaging==23.2andtox>=3.27.1,<4.0.0with system pip.tox -e py.The purpose is to compare this simpler test bootstrap with the private, pinned pytest environment in #19725 using the official unified buddy-build environment, with package tests enabled on AMD64 and ARM64.
This is deliberately a one-variable experiment: Release and changelog are unchanged. Any adopted production change will need its own appropriate release/changelog update. #19725 itself is not modified.
