Your step-by-step guide to preparing and applying for a Development role at Murex.
The Murex hiring process for all Development roles consists of the following steps:
* Applies to permanent positions only.
We strongly encourage you to review the resources in the Preparing for Your Assessments section before you apply.
These resources will help you prepare for the technical topics you will be assessed on during the technical test and interviews.
Search our career portal to find the Development opportunity that suits you.
Click Apply to create your candidate profile and submit an up-to-date CV.
Our team will review your application within one week of submission. We recommend completing your preparation before the Talent Acquisition team contacts you.
The Talent Acquisition team will review your application to ensure that your profile (educational background and experience) aligns with the requirements of the role you applied for.
A few tips for updating your CV:
- Keep it concise while highlighting the information most relevant to the role.
- Tailor it to the opportunity you are applying for.
- List the projects you have worked on during your studies, final-year project, internships, or professional experience.
Once your application has been screened, the Talent Acquisition team will contact you to schedule your online technical test.
The test can be scheduled between two days and two weeks after this call. A link to the test will be sent to you by email.
The test is tailored to your profile: each profile (Java Developer or C++ Developer) has a dedicated test covering the topics most relevant to that role.
Before taking the test, we recommend reviewing the Preparing for Your Assessments section.
Next, you will be invited to a one-hour interview with the Talent Acquisition team.
This is our opportunity to get to know you better and assess your fit for the role.
To prepare for this interview, we encourage you to:
- Research the company and understand what we do.
- Prepare examples that demonstrate your communication skills, teamwork, and other soft skills relevant to the role.
- Be yourself, and be clear and specific when describing your experience.
After the HR interview, you will be invited to a two-hour technical interview with two engineers from our Development department.
They will ask technical and coding questions to assess your knowledge and understand how you approach problems. Explaining your reasoning is as important as reaching the correct answer.
Before this interview, we recommend reviewing the Preparing for Your Assessments section.
* Applies to permanent positions only.
This is the final step of our hiring process before the offer stage.
You will meet with a team looking for someone with your skills to join them.
We encourage you to ask questions about the role, the team, and its work.
To help you prepare for the technical test and interviews, we have put together an outline of learning material.
The material is grouped by the knowledge domains relevant to each profile.
You will receive the technical test corresponding to the role you applied for, either Java or C++.

- Run your code before submitting.
- Submit your solution even if it is incomplete. Partial solutions still earn points.
- Work Independently: Complete the test on your own, without help from anyone else.
- AI tools are prohibited: Using ChatGPT, Copilot, or any other AI assistant is strictly prohibited.
- No external IDEs: Write all your code in the HackerRank editor. Pasting code into the editor is monitored and is considered a breach of test integrity.

- Confidentiality: The test content is confidential. Do not share, post, or discuss the questions or your answers.
Based on your test results, you will be selected for either an OOP-based or an Algorithm-based technical interview.
