Hi there πŸ‘‹

Hi, I'm Nazmul πŸ˜ƒ. I am a Rustacean πŸ¦€ Systems Engineering Leader & Founder building next-generation terminal platforms and developer tooling for the AI & cloud era. Also an ex-Googler (Android Studio IDE Platform), founder, engineer, maintainer, designer, leader, HsingI-er, racer, storyteller. I πŸ’“ leadership, authenticity, play and hope.

I'm the founder, principal systems engineer, and maintainer of ROC (r3bl-open-core), an open-source platform and suite of developer productivity tools designed for the era of AI coding agents and cloud-first workflows.

Re-imagining the Terminal for AI & Cloud Workflows

With the rapid rise of autonomous AI coding agents (Claude Code, Gemini CLI, LLM harnesses) and remote cloud VM administration over SSH, the terminal has become the primary command center for modern developers. Yet terminal UX and foundational primitives have largely stagnated since the 1990s. ROC bridges this 30-year gap by reimagining terminal interaction through modern reactive architectures, headless virtualization, and local-first developer tooling.

Platform & Developer Tools

  • Virtual Terminal Emulation & cmdr: Headless virtual terminal emulators with virtual tabs for interactive cloud infrastructure configurations and multiplexed agent workflows over SSH.
  • Interactive Markdown & Code Execution (edi): Modal terminal Markdown editor with syntax highlighting, visual formatting, and real-time inline code execution.
  • Interactive Git Workflows (giti): Streamlined branch switching, interactive staging, and high-velocity commit workflows directly in the terminal.
  • AI & MCP Servers: High-performance Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations (such as rust-analyzer-mcp-server) bridging autonomous AI agents directly with local toolchains.

Core Engine: r3bl_tui

  • 2.7M+ downloads on crates.io
  • Modern UI Architecture: Elm-style unidirectional state management, Flexbox layout engine, CSS-like styling, and React/JSX-style declarative macros.
  • Low-Latency Systems Engineering: Fully asynchronous, thread-safe runtime with PTY/TTY concurrency, high-efficiency memory management, and rendering pipeline optimizations.

πŸ’‘ Background

  • 22 years software engineering | 8 years engineering leadership
  • Ex-Google: Android Studio IDE platform team (performance & stability)
  • Founder: TRNQL ($1.5M raised, shipped production Android/iOS SDKs)
  • Polyglot: Rust, TypeScript, Kotlin, Java | Desktop, web, mobile, cloud
