Summary

Release 1.2.0 of the CLI, with the three options of #294, #295 and #296:

  • --header "Name: value": request headers for the origin of the measured URL only, for pages behind an access proxy such as Cloudflare Access.
  • --cpu <factor> and --network <preset>: CPU and network throttling, with the presets of DevTools.
  • --own-domains <list>: domains of the site that count as first party, such as its own CDN.

cli/package.json, cli/server.json and the lockfile go to 1.2.0, and cli/CHANGELOG.md moves the three entries from Unreleased to 1.2.0. No snippet changed since 1.1.0, so no result of a snippet changes. The root changelog gets a line for the CLI 1.2.0 with its three options, and the entry of the Claude Code plugin (#292), merged without one. The links at the end of cli/CHANGELOG.md compare 1.2.0 and Unreleased from the new tag.

After the merge: push the tag cli-v1.2.0 right away, since the Copy prompt of the site pins the version of cli/package.json, and approve npm-publish in Actions.

Test plan

  • node scripts/check-tag-version.js cli-v1.2.0 (local): the tag matches cli/package.json and cli/server.json.
  • npm run smoke:cli-package (local): the packed webperf-snippets-1.2.0.tgz installs in an empty folder; its MCP server lists 56 snippets, says how to install Chromium without it, and measures LCP after the install.
  • By hand with that packed package (local): --header with --cpu 4 --network slow-4g against a server that requires the pair of Access headers measures LCP and names the throttling; --own-domains moves the scripts of a CDN on another root domain to first party.

…omains

The CLI adds `--header`, sent only to the origin of the measured URL, `--cpu` and `--network` with the presets of DevTools, and `--own-domains`, for the domains of the site that count as first party. cli/package.json, cli/server.json and the lockfile go to 1.2.0, and the changelog of the CLI moves the three entries from Unreleased to 1.2.0. No snippet changed since 1.1.0. The root changelog gets the entry of the Claude Code plugin (#292), merged without one.

…gelog

The links at the end of cli/CHANGELOG.md compare Unreleased from cli-v1.2.0 and add the comparison of 1.2.0, which the release commit missed. The root changelog gets a line for the CLI 1.2.0 with its three options and a link to the changelog of the CLI, as 1.0.0 had.
