🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Set providerType from the endpoint at save time, not only during a connection test.
providerType changes only in handleTestConnection. saveServer saves whatever value the state holds. Two cases make the saved value stale:
- A user creates a server with a MiniMax endpoint and saves it without a test. The server is saved as
'openai-compatible'. - A user changes a saved MiniMax server to a custom endpoint and saves it without a test. The server keeps
'minimax'with a non-MiniMax endpoint.
Put the same mapping in a helper. Call the helper in saveServer for updateServer and addServer. This also removes the nested ternary that SonarCloud flags.

Reason: MiniMax remote presets and discovered text choices need to offer MiniMax-M3.1-Flash first, followed by MiniMax-M3, while preserving explicit saved model IDs.
Summary
The endpoint reference constants do not add another protocol implementation. Existing custom endpoints remain explicit routes.

Additional Notes
Validation: 19 focused tests pass (12 new regression tests and 7 existing credential-transport tests) using the lockfile versions Jest 29.7.0, TypeScript 5.9.3 and React 19.2.0. The request tests exercise the real provider, message builder, HTTP JSON serialization and SSE reader with an offline
XMLHttpRequestreplacement. The focused runner isolates unavailable native/sibling dependencies; it does not validate the shared gateway reasoning mapper. React's test-renderer deprecation warning remains.Repository-configured Jest was attempted and stops before collecting tests:
Preset react-native not found. The pinned TypeScript config check (tsc --showConfig) reports TS6053 because@react-native/typescript-configis missing. Full setup/native builds are paused by the workspace disk gate (less than 110 GiB available). The required sibling shared packages and referenced../.codex/ENGINEERING_CONTRACT.mdare absent from this checkout. Exact-head CI at1bcaffb504da603bf3dcafeab3a63b97d6a120a7passed ESLint and SonarCloud. Its new discovery and form suites passed. Typecheck, architecture, dead-code, and overall Jest checks failed; the new transport suite cannot import the missing@offgrid/modelssibling package. The same missing-package diagnostic and unused MiniMax exports are present in prior-head CI at4b6191a2bd8063d1dd8f8a841e1eb1f587f467dc(run 39163126376); this is not a claim that every failure has been classified. Native CI was still running at the latest check. Full passing project checks and device verification remain outstanding. No paid inference was performed.
