…poch codex-cli 0.154.0 keeps the exec JSONL schema and every disabled feature key intact, so the tested interval moves to [0.152.0, 0.155.0). every exec invocation now also disables goals, whose extension tools are exposed to any thread with persistent state and whose active goal drives automatic continuation turns; a server side policy refusal delivered as the turn.failed message classifies as refused outside the resumable and breaker sets; rollout lookup accepts _<rollout-id> suffixed names and .jsonl.zst siblings, preferring a plain file and decoding zstd through node's zlib when present.
the contract records what the rust-v0.153.4 to rust-v0.154.0 and main 5b1d656 read settled: the goals disable and its upstream review precedent, service_tier=priority as the Fast tier request value, the model rerouted error item, the guardian gate re-read, unknown --disable keys failing before start, --worktree staying out of managed runs, the refused kind, and the rollout lookup rule; the pin sweep moves codex-cli to 0.154.0 verified 2026-09-14 across the README, verified-versions.json, the runtime skill and the rules-sync pin.
the reap diagnostic and other fixtures write rollout-<thread-id>.jsonl with no timestamp segment, which the tightened name pattern rejected on linux; the segment before the thread id is optional again, and the plain over zstd case now uses that bare shape so the regression shows on macOS too.

[0.152.0, 0.155.0)after codex-cli 0.154.0 auto-installed and/codex:setupwent not ready: a three ref read of openai/codex (rust-v0.153.4, rust-v0.154.0, main 5b1d656) shows the exec JSONL schema byte identical throughout, the only exec flag change is the opt-in--worktree, every disabled feature key still registered, and the five config keys the companion passes unchanged--disable goals: the feature has been stable and on since before 0.153.4, exposes goal tools to any thread with persistent state, and an active goal drives automatic continuation turns; upstream's own review turn disables it toorefusedinstead of genericerror, outside the resumable and breaker kind sets_<rollout-id>suffixed name written afterthread/revertand the.jsonl.zstsibling that cold rollout compression produces, preferring a plain file and decoding zstd through node's zlib when presentservice_tier=priorityis the Fast tier request value, themodel reroutederror item, the guardian gate re-read, unknown--disablekeys fail before start,--worktreestays out of managed runs); the reviewable logic is inplugins/codex/scripts/lib/codex-exec.mjs, the rest is prose, pins and the release bumptest plan
