This PR was opened by the Changesets release GitHub action. When you're ready to do a release, you can merge this and publish to npm yourself or setup this action to publish automatically. If you're not ready to do a release yet, that's fine, whenever you add more changesets to main, this PR will be updated.

Releases

verifiablejs@1.6.0

Minor Changes

  • 03d2f0d: Bump the verifiable dependency to the published crates.io release 0.3.0 (previously pinned to git rev 1f9f6752), switching from a git pin to a proper versioned dependency.

The release includes the changes since the old pin, most notably:

    • The insecure deterministic no-std prover is replaced with a blinded no-std prover, and feature unification can no longer disable ring-proof blinding.
    • New batch_validate_per_item with per-item failure attribution.
    • ark-vrf bumped to 0.5.3 (with a matching ark-scale bump).

The JS API surface is unchanged.

  • 107ef92: Add encode_members(members: Uint8Array[]): Uint8Array — a built-in helper that SCALE-encodes an array of 32-byte member public keys into the Vec<Member> shape every ring function (one_shot, validate, is_valid, batch_validate, members_root, members_intermediate) expects for its members parameter. Callers no longer need to hand-roll the SCALE Vec<[u8; 32]> encoding or reach for a separate codec library. Each element must be exactly 32 bytes and a valid Bandersnatch public key, otherwise the call throws.

    Documentation fixes:

    • The package README's Quick Start used the old domain_size values (11/12/16) and called one_shot(11, …); corrected to the ring_exponent values the API actually accepts (9/10/14).
    • validate_with_commitment is now documented in both READMEs as the recommended local pre-flight check before an on-chain submission — it validates a proof against the 288-byte ring root (MembersCommitment) the chain exposes.
    • Both READMEs now point to encode_members as the preferred way to build the members argument, keeping the hand-rolled encoding only as a no-WASM fallback.

Patch Changes

  • 9e84c4d: Docs: steer verification guidance toward validate_with_commitment — fetch the finalized 288-byte MembersCommitment from chain instead of rebuilding it from the member list on every validate call.
  • 0765f5c: Remove documentation for multi-context proof functions (create_multi_context, validate_multi_context, is_valid_multi_context, and the MultiContextResult type) from both READMEs. These were documented as part of the public API but were never implemented in the WASM bindings — only a similarly named test (test_multi_context_aliases_are_unlinkable, which exercises alias_in_context) exists. Documenting a non-existent API was misleading; the docs now reflect the functions the package actually ships.
