Specifying font used

hello, I'm currently theorising out a toki pona translation for Earthbound. If you're not familiar with toki pona, it's a really nice conlang.
Anyways, I wanted to use the sitelen pona script for this translation which have 170 glyphs (I will only need about 130 of them).
Thing is, the maximal amount of character per font is 128. so knowing that I will still need all 10 digits, and at least 4 punctuation marks, I'm quite embarassed. The translation tutorial say that the theorical max character per font is 176. it would be really nice if I could do that.
My other idea is to replace completely the Mr. Saturn font by the glyphs missing from each fonts, but that would require being able to use multiple font in one string and therefore specifying it. I was wandering if it was possible, or if there was other way to go around this problem.

It's good to hear that you're working on a fan translation! Good luck. There's actually someone in the PK Hack Discord server who started a toki pona translation using the Roman alphabet for fun a while ago. If you want to join, it might be easier to talk there about programming details for font stuff than in a GitHub issue thread.

I'm curious where you saw that 176 figure, because it's not completely correct. The maximum number of characters in the fonts without editing the actual code of the game is 128 (characters ranging from $50 to $CF, with nearly everything outside of that range just being the same set of 128 characters), which is what CoilSnake currently supports. With code edits, it would be easy to increase the number all the way up above 200 (characters ranging from ~$20ish to $FF), which sounds like it'd be enough for all of sitelen pona and the digits and punctuation. It should probably be easy to get those code edits working, although you might need to use a few tools in addition to CoilSnake to get it to work.

I actually couldn't find the PK Hack discord server, that's partially why I made this issue.
The 176 max potential that I'm talking about comes directly from here.
200 character per font sounds like a dream.
also I didn't know about that ongoing translation, taht's pretty neat.
