[Feature wish] Allow nested spaces.

I have a lot of nested spaces in my Matrix account.

Hereby I would suggest that Robrix supports showing and navigating them easily, e.g. in the spaces list on the left that one can open a top level space when there are sub-spaces and then there is a tree-like view of spaces (like in a file browser).

yeah, that'd be a welcome addition. Any ideas how you would like to see that displayed? I was thinking perhaps something like another spaces bar that can be shown/hidden next to the root spaces bar, but i'm not sure if there are better UX choices.

I am thinking similarly to SchildiChat (Element-based SchildiChat, not SchildiChat revenge) or a file explorer, where it can be unfolded or folded:

Having written that, due to capacity reasons I have to cut on open projects. I need to cut down, and most probably won't follow up with this anymore after this answer I posted here.

sure, something like that is fine, but it won't work on narrow-screened mobile devices. If you primarily use it on a Linux desktop device then you might not be concerned with that, but Robrix does target mobile platforms so we've gotta consider that as well.

The current spaces bar design does work for mobile, but it doesn't show nesting.

Ah OK. Some ideas: * Config option (with default to "try to automatically infer from window width"), * like schildichat-revenge does: Multiple bars at the top. (Both options can be combined.) But I leave the decision to you.

.. or on small window, show the panel with the spaces only when navigating spaces, closing it otherwise (I think Android Element and SchildiChat do this).

yea, we might need to offer a dedicated view for that, in addition to the existing bar of top-level spaces.
