LGTM, but I agree the hacks are fragile. Could the update wait for 3.15rc2 in less than two weeks or is there an urgent need?

It's a beta of the update we intend to release at the same time as 3.15, so I think it's okay to push it out with a little fragility. The fallback would be to base it on 3.14 even when 3.15 is the default, but I think it's more useful to flush out issues in 3.15. |
