This adds an agent skill that runs the quickstart, from a fresh clone to a signed-in console with a run to watch.

  • .claude/skills/runkora-quickstart/SKILL.md holds the procedure. Claude Code loads it as a skill when a person asks to set up, install or demo runkora.
  • AGENTS.md points Codex, OpenCode and other coding agents at the same file.
  • The root README's Quickstart section says a coding agent can run the quickstart.
  • The root Makefile now forwards make alert. factories/sre/README.md runs it from the root, and the root did not forward it.

How the skill chooses the example

The skill asks what the person wants to see and maps the answer to an example:

  • One agent under policy and a budget runs single-tenant.
  • Teams kept apart with their own agents, access and budgets runs multi-tenant.
  • A factory that finds, verifies and fixes bugs runs factories/autofix.
  • Alert triage and cost sweeps run factories/sre.
  • A person who is not sure gets single-tenant, the example with the fewest steps.

It then states what the example needs beyond the base install, walks the person through the GitHub App in the browser where the example needs one, checks the prerequisites, sets up OpenRouter or Ollama, and runs make up EXAMPLE=<example>. On a failure it reruns the failed stage target and the stages after it. Each step cites the README section that holds the detail. The READMEs stay the source of truth.

Hard rules

  • The agent does not ask for, print or echo API keys, private keys or webhook signing secrets. The person writes them into quickstart/.env.
  • The agent does not run sudo. The person runs mkcert -install in their own terminal before the install.
  • The agent does not create accounts, API keys, GitHub Apps or webhooks.
  • The agent asks before it installs a tool or pushes to a repository.

What was checked

  • Every path, make target, README anchor, port, URL, environment variable and user in the skill exists in the repository. make -n resolves each target from the root.
  • The tone check reports nothing on the three Markdown files, and none of them has an em dash.
  • No manifest changed. make validate did not run locally for lack of kubeconform, and CI runs it on this pull request.
  • The skill has not run end to end on a clean machine.

factories/sre/README.md runs make alert from the root, and the root Makefile
did not forward it to quickstart/.
.claude/skills/runkora-quickstart/SKILL.md takes a person from a fresh clone
to a running example. It asks which demo to run, states what the example
needs, checks the prerequisites, sets up the model provider, runs make up and
shows where to see the example work. AGENTS.md points other coding agents at
the same file.

Walkthrough

Adds an agent skill and AGENTS.md that guide a coding agent through the quickstart. Adds the alert target to the root Makefile forwarding list and links the skill from the README.

Severity Finding Location
nit Stage list omits tools .claude/skills/runkora-quickstart/SKILL.md:77

Review effort: Low
Risk: Low, documentation and a Makefile forwarding list
Coverage: 4 of 4 files reviewed

Where to focus

Area Why it needs a person
.claude/skills/runkora-quickstart/SKILL.md Confirm the secrets and sudo rules match the intended agent behavior.
Checked

Root Makefile forwarding list against quickstart/Makefile, AGENTS.md, README link.

The skill uses the plain style of the runkora concepts and guides: short lookup tables, labelled lists and one instruction per sentence. The install stage list now starts with tools, which make up runs first. The GitHub App step clears the App's own webhook, because the form needs a URL when it is active and the examples receive webhooks from the repository or organisation.
