Skills live in .agents/skills, which coding agents other than Claude Code read. .claude/skills is a symbolic link to it, so Claude Code loads the same files. AGENTS.md and the README point at the new path.

Skills move from
.claude/skillsto.agents/skills..claude/skillsbecomes a symbolic link to../.agents/skills, and Claude Code loads the skill through it. AGENTS.md and the README point at the new path.Git stores the link as a symlink (mode 120000). A checkout on Windows without symlink support gets a text file in its place, which only affects Claude Code on that checkout.
