rustls 0.23.45 picked up four advisories on 14 Oct 2026, so cargo audit now fails on main and on every open PR:

  • RUSTSEC-2026-0346: Debug impls for client session values expose TLS secrets
  • RUSTSEC-2026-0347: buffered application data sent to the outer server after ECH rejection
  • RUSTSEC-2026-0348: brotli certificate decompression can allocate up to 1 GiB before authentication
  • RUSTSEC-2026-0349: an unauthenticated ServerHello can downgrade later connections to classical key exchange

0.23.46 fixes all four. Lockfile-only: cargo update -p rustls --precise 0.23.46 in Cargo.lock and fuzz/Cargo.lock, as with the 0.23.45 bump. cargo audit at the root is clean with it.

Once this merges, re-running CI on the open PRs (#268-#281) should clear their audit step without a rebase.

rustls 0.23.45 has four advisories published on 14 Oct 2026 (ECH
rejection data leak, brotli certificate decompression allocation,
ServerHello key-exchange downgrade, secrets in Debug output); 0.23.46
fixes all four. cargo audit fails on main and on every open PR until
this lands. Bumped in both Cargo.lock and fuzz/Cargo.lock.

Thanks Jad, beat you to it by a hair: 18227d8 on main has rustls 0.23.46 in both lockfiles, plus wnaf 0.14.1 (0.14.0 was yanked) and the fuzz h2/quinn-proto/chacha20 bumps.
