+Source Cooperative provides two views of analytics for data products: a public sidebar visible to all visitors, and a detailed tab available to product owners and editors.

+## Analytics Sidebar
+
+Every public data product displays an analytics sidebar on its landing page. The sidebar shows summary statistics for the product, including request counts and data transfer volume. These metrics are visible to anyone who can view the product, giving potential users a sense of how actively a dataset is being used.

+## Analytics Tab
+
+Owners, maintainers, and site admins of a data product can access the **Analytics** tab on the product page. This tab provides a more detailed breakdown of usage over time, including:

+- **Requests** — number of requests made to the product's data files
+- **Data transfer** — total bytes transferred to users
+- **Top files** — which files within the product are accessed most frequently
+- **Time range selector** — filter metrics by day, week, or month to spot usage trends
