CI on PR #1297 failed TestVersionUpdate_SnapshotIncludesConfigWhenPathSet at the shared two-second polling deadline. The test waits for a rollback backup, config copy and fake updater failure. The run recorded slow SQLite/filesystem operations in nearby fixtures; all EV tests passed.

This is a lifecycle assertion, not the separate two-second goal-save admission requirement in #1246. Give the test room to observe the required terminal state while preserving the config contents, snapshot existence and update outcome assertions. Do not relax production storage latency criteria.
