The application icon was difficult to see on dark taskbars. Generate opaque white-backed PNG/ICO variants from the unchanged shared logo, retaining RGBA encoding required by Tauri. Reconcile the UI milestone acceptance record with the owner’s recorded v1.2.9 UAT and approved compact button controls.

Prepare fixed v1.2.10 support in the existing protected UAT workflow, with actual disposable 1.2.9 -> 1.2.10 package-upgrade probes, exact-main checks, signing approval and immutable authenticated prerelease publication. The 1.2.9 probe package is an unpublished same-source fixture; published v1.2.9 assets remain unchanged. Include the agreed completion plan and a focused Windows/Mint installation/results sheet.

Related: #63, #4, #5, #6; Accessibility and UI Usability milestone. Keep issues open for owner UAT and explicit acceptance. Stable promotion, fleet rollout, policy resume and separate #72/#73 work are outside this change.

Validation on reviewed head 24aefad:

Native desktop/taskbar, Narrator/Orca and the new owner acceptance remain UAT checks. The first RGB-only PNG attempt was corrected to explicit RGBA; superseded CI is retained separately and is not the merge evidence above.

Published candidate authentication receipt

Merged source: 35a2228070ea2391668e88d617adbd382aeb3c99 (same tree as reviewed head). Exact merged-main verification passed: https://github.com/stormbots/Tactics-Strategy-Dev-Environments/actions/runs/39324314292

Protected v1.2.10 preparation run: https://github.com/stormbots/Tactics-Strategy-Dev-Environments/actions/runs/39326251992 — ui_completion=true, all legacy candidate options false. Both actual Windows SYSTEM and Mint root 1.2.9 -> 1.2.10 package-upgrade probes passed. Both main and release/v1.2.uat were verified at the exact source above.

Owner approval of sde-release-signing was received and the entire run completed successfully. Published v1.2.10 at 2026-10-19 21:30 UTC as a non-draft prerelease. The release tag resolves to the exact merged source above. The owner confirmed Windows 11 and Mint Cinnamon are available for UAT.

Build inputs (unexpired run-bound artifacts; archive digests):

Publication and authentication are now confirmed; owner UAT may begin. The workflow downloaded and authenticated all five published assets. Codex independently downloaded all five, verified the manifest signature with the repository-pinned production key, verified both installers, passed sha256sum --check SHA256SUMS.txt, and matched every file size and SHA-256 to the GitHub release asset metadata. Exactly the expected five assets are present. Published assets must not be replaced.

Focused installation and UAT sheet. This receipt supplies the confirmation required by the guide’s preparation-only heading and pending handoff fields. Fill in workstation observations and acceptance separately; automated native upgrade probes do not establish Windows 11/Cinnamon desktop or assistive-technology acceptance. Stable promotion and milestone closeout remain pending owner UAT.
