feat(skills): route deep-dive asks to TinyFish deep research - #62
Conversation
Explicit deep research asks now start one start_deep_research run and poll get_deep_research; ordinary questions keep search + fetch. The CLI surface maps the tools to `tinyfish research run --async` / `run get`. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

start_deep_research, get_deep_research, and cancel_deep_research entries so they
are not presented as CLI 0.49 commands. Split these rows into a CLI
0.51-or-later section or use a generic header, while preserving the existing
requirement and upgrade guidance for tinyfish research.
Review comments at @skills/tinyfish-research/SKILL.md:
- Line 10: Update the free-cost statement in the skill documentation to apply
only to the search and fetch_content tools, removing the claim that depth never
costs money. Also update the corresponding web preamble to reflect that
deep-research runs are billed per run before regenerating the derived skills.
- Around line 22-29: Update the default-selection rule near start_deep_research
so explicit deep-research requests take precedence over ordinary-question
exclusions such as current news and compare X vs Y. Ensure qualifying phrases
like “deep research” and “comprehensive report” always initiate exactly one
deep-research run, while those exclusions remain applicable only when the
request is unqualified.
Review comments at @skills/tinyfish-web/SKILL.md:
- Line 18: Update the decision-table row for start_deep_research to list all
explicit triggers: “deep research,” “deep dive,” “comprehensive report,” “cited
report,” “literature review,” “survey,” and “landscape.” Then regenerate the
derived skills so they reflect the expanded trigger set.

Summary
tinyfish-researchonly knew search + fetch passes, so "do deep research on X" ran manual passes even where TinyFish deep research exists. This adds a short Deep research runs section, aligned with thestart_deep_research/get_deep_research/cancel_deep_researchMCP tool descriptions in ux-labs (frontend/app/mcp/shared/research-tool-definitions.ts):mode: deepby default, maxonly when the user asks for maximum depth.tinyfish-webgets a decision-table row. pi/mcp.jsondirectToolsdoesn't list the three deep research tools, and neither doespi/test/validate.mjs'sKNOWNlist. On pi they resolve only through the adapter'smcp({ search })proxy, which the pi skill already teaches. Registering them directly means editingdirectTools,KNOWNand the README tool count, and possibly a pi version bump. I left that out of this PR.sdk/cli/scripts/sync-skill.shto re-vendorcli/skills; the ux-labs CD drift guard fails until that lands.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
