101-125: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔵 Trivial | 💤 Low valueUse a guaranteed interior point for H3 boundaries.
cellToBoundaryadds edge-crossing vertices when a cell crosses an icosahedron edge. These vertices use different projection planes. Therefore, the arithmetic mean incellBoundaryInteriorPointis not guaranteed to remain inside the boundary. If it falls outside,CONTAINMENT_FULLcan reject a valid cell before the intersection checks run.Use
cellToLatLngfor actual H3 cell boundaries, or add a geometry-specific invariant test. Preserve a separate path for syntheticbboxToCellBoundaryboundaries, which have no H3 index. Add full-containment coverage for resolution-0 pentagons and polar cells. The current regression covers one resolution-3 cell, while the polar test uses center containment.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

I don't see a test for the antimeridian case -- please add one.
polygonToCellsExperimentalwithCONTAINMENT_FULLsometimes returns a cell that lies entirely outside the polygon. This happens when the polygon is built from H3 cells, for example fromcellsToMultiPolygonoutput that went through degrees (GeoJSON), and the stray cell is a neighbor that shares an edge with it.Through h3-py 4.5.0, with the polygon being one cell's own boundary:
Over 4,500 random disks (
gridDiskk=0..2, res 3..11, polygon =cells_to_h3shape(disk)), 46 results included a cell outside the polygon, about 1% at every resolution. Each time, the outside cell'sverts[0]is one of the polygon's vertices (47 of 47 stray cells).cellBoundaryInsidePolygonstarts with a point-in-polygon test onboundary->verts[0]. When that vertex sits on the polygon's edge, the ray cast can count it as inside. Shared edges don't count as crossings, so the neighbor passes. The fix keeps that vertex test and adds a second one on a point inside the boundary: the mean of its vertices, with longitudes unwrapped around the first vertex for antimeridian cases. Both are needed. The interior point rejects the neighbor, and the vertex still rejects a cell that contains the polygon (cellBoundaryInsidePolygon_notInsideContains). This can only remove cells from the result. On the 4,500 disks plus finer-resolution fills of the same polygons, the patch removes 106 cells and adds none, and every removed cell is outside the polygon.polygonToCellsCellBoundary_FullContainmentbuilds the polygon fromcellToBoundary(0x837c16fffffffff)round-tripped through degrees. It fails on main and passes here.ctest: 319/319 pass. h3-py's suite, built against this patch, gives 181 passed. clang-format 14 reports no changes. I added a CHANGELOG entry under Unreleased.Found by testing h3-py's experimental containment modes against the polygons' own cells, with Claude Code's help.
