The grouping now carries the tenant alongside its ids under a definite string key, so the original tenant value still reaches withTenant uncoerced; the old code read it back off the array key, where PHP had already cast a numeric tenant to int. The job downloaded getcomposer.org/installer and piped the response straight into php with no digest or signature check, so a substituted response executed arbitrary code on the runner. Copy the binary out of the pinned composer:2.8 image the Dockerfile already builds with instead. While moving the image, align it with what the library declares: the run now happens on php:8.5.8-cli-alpine (the Dockerfile's base) rather than php:8.4, and the blanket --ignore-platform-reqs becomes --ignore-platform-req='ext-*', so the "php": ">=8.5" constraint is enforced again instead of being suppressed alongside the extensions the image genuinely lacks. QueryProfiler is only fed from SQL::execute(), and MySQL, Postgres and SQLite each override execute() to wrap the call in engine-specific timeout handling that ends in $stmt->execute(). Database::enableProfiling() was therefore a silent no-op on three of the four SQL adapters, and detectNPlusOne() reported nothing on them. parent::execute() is not a fix for MySQL: MySQL extends MariaDB, whose execute() issues MariaDB's SET max_statement_time, which MySQL 8 rejects with a PDOException instead of a timeout. …lic API Four tests reached into Memory::$data and Memory::$permissions by reflection and asserted the shape of the private store. Reverting the cascade that copies an index's attribute list, or the one that clears a deleted row's permission entries, left them green, and a storage refactor would have failed them without any behaviour changing. Drive the adapter's public API instead and assert the outcome: - a renamed attribute answers to the new key and not the old one - a unique index that referenced the old key still refuses a duplicate under the new one, and the new key is registered (deleteAttribute is a no-op for a key the adapter never registered, so the field would survive the drop) - dropping one column of a two-column unique index narrows it to the column that is left, which then refuses a duplicate - a bulk-deleted document id, re-used with no read permission, stays invisible to find() The size assertion in the rename test had no behavioural counterpart: nothing in Memory reads an attribute's stored size, so it pinned dead state. The batch-read guard subclassed Database to count calls to getDocument() and find(), which pins the internal method the upsert happens to use: an equivalent optimisation through another path would fail it despite identical behaviour. Count the SELECT statements the adapter issues against the collection's table instead, through Database::enableProfiling(). That is the property the guard exists for -- one round trip to the engine per batch rather than one per document, which is what turned a new project's first stats sweep from 31s into 306s -- and it is measured where the round trips actually happen. Adapters with no statements to count (Mongo, Redis) skip; the batching itself lives in upsertDocumentsWithIncrease, which every adapter runs, so the four SQL lanes cover the regression for all of them. The reference-wrapping guard compared the export's peak allocation to a fixed 3 MiB, which is a number tuned to one allocator on one platform: the honest cost is ~2.1 MiB and the wrapped cost ~5.2 MiB on PHP 8.5.8, so the bound sits between two build-dependent values with no margin to speak of. Measure what one plain copy of the same array costs in the same process and require the export to stay under twice that. Finding 4 — Allocator Threshold Makes Test Brittle
Accepted, fixed in 6d4d349. The complaint is about the threshold, not the guard, and the threshold was genuinely fragile: The guard itself has to stay, and it cannot be replaced by a behavioural assertion. Reference-wrapping every element of a scalar array is invisible from userland: PHP unwraps a reference whose refcount is 1 when the array is copied, so neither write-through detection nor $a = [1, 2, 3];

The guard reads as an allocator assertion in a unit suite, and the obvious reviewer response is to replace it with a behavioural one or move it to a benchmark. Neither works: PHP unwraps a reference whose refcount is 1 when the array is copied, so a reference-wrapped export is indistinguishable from a clean one through write-through in either direction, ReflectionReference::fromArrayElement(), var_dump() and serialize(). …ists The Feature contract tests carried three hard-coded lists of method names checked with method_exists(). They restate the source: adding or renaming a method fails them without anything behaving differently, and none of them can catch a feature reported wrongly. The Memory hasFeature() checks were statically decided as well -- PHPStan resolves them to constants once the type-widening helper that hid the concrete class is removed, which is the same observation from the other direction. What is left asserts something that can fail. Pool must not implement the Feature interfaces, because it stands in for whichever adapter the pool hands out and a caller type-checking the facade would be told the pooled engine supports what it does not; support is answered by hasFeature(), and a call the inner adapter cannot serve is refused at the facade. Both halves are driven for real against a pool wrapping Memory. Coverage removed is covered elsewhere: the method lists by the interface assertions in the same tests, and Memory's refusal to upsert by MemoryTest::testUpsertIsNotImplemented, which drives Database::upsertDocuments. CLITasksTest read bin/tasks/operators.php and matched implementation strings, so a rename failed it while any other runtime break passed. The task is not executed by CI and bin/ was outside PHPStan's paths, so nothing else covered it. Level 0 over bin/ catches the actual failure mode and the rest with it: reverting the call site to $authorization->addRole() now reports "Undefined variable: $authorization" at operators.php:154. Level max is not reachable there -- bin/ is benchmark code and reports 203 errors at that level. bin/cli.php is excluded because its autoload path resolves in the runtime image, not on a host checkout. The Attribute and Index factory tests reflected parameter names to assert a 'type' argument is absent. The line above each already asserts the type the factory produces, which is the property; changing StringType's declared ColumnType fails those assertions. The bin config passed on my host because ext-swoole was loaded there and PHPStan resolved PDOPool and PDOConfig from the real extension. CI has no swoole, so it reported both as not found in tasks/load.php and tasks/relationships.php — my local green was false. Stubbed the way the repo already stubs PDOProxy and PDOStatementProxy, covering only the surface bin/ uses. Verified with the extension unloaded (PHPRC without swoole, PHP_INI_SCAN_DIR empty): both configs clean, and reverting operators.php to $authorization->addRole() still reports "Undefined variable: $authorization" at line 154. updateDocument loads $old by $id and derives every decision from it -- authorization, the version and conflict checks, $createdAt, and change detection. MariaDB and Postgres then key the UPDATE's WHERE clause on $document->getSequence(), so a caller-supplied $sequence surviving the array_merge redirected the write to a row that was never authorized, left the intended row unwritten, and still reported success. Nothing hostile is needed to trigger it: Mirror hands the document returned by source->updateDocument(), carrying the source's sequence, to destination->updateDocument(). The two databases have independent autoincrements, so a destination that has drifted -- a partial backfill, or any row written to it out of band -- takes the write on whichever row happens to hold that _id. Restoring unconditionally rather than behind preserveSequence: that flag exists so a migration can choose the autoincrement value a *new* row is inserted with, which is why it is read in the upsert path. An update creates nothing, no adapter puts _id in its SET clause, and $old is already fixed by $id -- so a caller-supplied sequence there can only ever mis-target the write. Both sides of shared-table isolation were gated on an ambient tenant being set, so the mode where each document carries its own -- tenantPerDocument, where the ambient tenant is null by definition -- lost isolation entirely. Writes: syncWriteHooks() registered the Tenancy hook only when $this->tenant was set, and that hook is the only thing that puts _tenant into an INSERT. Rows landed with _tenant = NULL, invisible to their owner. The upsert path binds the document's tenant directly, so it could not see the tenantless originals either: it treated them as new and inserted duplicates, restarting $version, moving $createdAt, and checking create permission where update permission was owed. The hook already resolved each row's tenant from the document, so registering it whenever tables are shared is all that was missing. Reads: newBuilder(), the permission subquery, and four fast paths that skip the builder made the same assumption -- no ambient tenant, no tenant clause -- and so returned every tenant's rows instead of none. Reproduced against MySQL, MariaDB, Postgres, SQLite and Mongo: a collection whose own metadata row is tenantless passes the identity guard in getCollection(), leaving the document read as the only thing between one tenant and another's data. find(), count() and getDocument() all handed back both tenants' rows. getSequences() is the one read that spans tenants on purpose, so it now passes its tenant list to newBuilder() and the filter emits one placeholder per tenant, keeping the tenant clause to a single author. testSharedTablesTenantPerDocument was disabled by this branch behind ENABLE_TENANT_PER_DOCUMENT_TEST, a variable set nowhere in the repository. It is re-enabled, its capability bail is now a visible skip, its state restore runs in a finally, and it asserts the duplicate-row shape and the cross-tenant read directly. testSharedTablesReadsScopeToTheSelectedTenant covers the same read property on the SharedTables lanes that cannot create a schema, which is where Mongo and SQLite are checked. The list of types that carry a filter of the same name was a single constant read by both public creation paths. This branch deleted it and hand-inlined the members at each call site, and datetime was dropped from both copies. createAttribute() then threw, because the attribute validator still requires the filter: "Attribute of type: datetime requires the following filters: datetime". createCollection() runs no validator over its inline attributes, so it failed silently instead -- the column was created with no filters, the encode filter never ran, and the raw string reached the column. MariaDB refuses it outright (1292 Incorrect datetime value), MySQL and Mongo take it but hand back a naked datetime with the zone gone, and SQLite stores the offset verbatim, leaving a value five hours out for every later comparison. The constant comes back rather than a third inlined copy, because what it holds is an invariant across the two paths and not a repeated expression: an attribute made through createCollection() has to encode and decode the same way as the identical one made through createAttribute(), and two lists that can drift are exactly how that stopped being true. testCreateDatetimeAddingAutoFilter was inert on both branches: it created 'datetime_auto_filter' and then added the attribute to 'datetime_auto', a collection that never existed, under an expectException that the resulting NotFound satisfied, so every assertion after it was unreachable. 8d91c44 excluded the METADATA collection from getDocument's cache while reworking invalidation from key enumeration to epochs. Nothing needed the exclusion: every schema mutator persists its definition through updateMetadata(), which writes the row via updateDocument(METADATA, ...) and so advances the METADATA epoch. The dead authorization branch it left behind inside the cached path shows it was reached for blast radius rather than for a gap. Uncached, getCollection() replays SELECT * FROM _metadata on every document operation, and Hook\Relationships calls it seven times per related read. On MySQL's general log, warm caches, identical workloads: getDocument x25 over one relationship 175 -> 50 statements, find of 50 related documents 7 -> 2, createDocuments of 50 related documents 162 -> 57, point reads 100 -> 50. updateDocument x50 goes 350 -> 300 rather than to main's 250; the remaining read is taken inside the mutation's own transaction, where inTransaction() keeps it uncached so no pre-commit row is published. ext-swoole is not in composer.json's require block, so a consumer may resolve
this package onto a PHP that does not have it. Two call sites referenced Swoole
classes unguarded, and a missing class there is a fatal Error rather than a
catchable exception, so the failure surfaced as a crash at runtime instead of at
resolution time.
getEventContext() backs silent() and areEventsSilenced(). Database::create() is
already inside a silent() call, so the first operation any swoole-less consumer
performed crashed, and deleteDocuments() crashed for the same reason further in.
Connection::hasError() reached Swoole's lost-connection detector on the error
path of the reconnecting PDO wrapper, which turned any query exception into a
fatal. Both now check extension_loaded('swoole') first, matching the guard
already used for the coroutine sleep in withRetries(); without the extension the
event context is the same -1 sentinel used outside a coroutine, and lost
connections fall back to the local message list.
Extensions cannot be unloaded from a running interpreter, so the regression test
drives the create/silent/deleteDocuments path in a subprocess started with -n,
which loads no shared extension. Swoole is shared both in the test image and in
any pecl install, so the subprocess genuinely lacks it; the test skips loudly if
a build has it compiled in statically. Reverting either guard turns it red.

Guarding the DetectsLostConnections call on extension_loaded('swoole') left two
holes, both raised in review on the previous commit.
The class comes from Swoole's PHP-land library rather than the extension core,
and swoole.enable_library=Off switches that library off while the extension stays
loaded. extension_loaded() therefore does not establish that the class can be
called, and the guard still fataled on every query-error path under that setting.
class_exists() is the condition that actually holds.
The local fallback list also carried a single needle, 'Max connect timeout
reached', which is the one signature Swoole does not supply. Consumers without
the extension kept 1 of 25 lost-connection signatures, so 'server has gone away'
and 'Lost connection' were rethrown instead of reconnecting, silently dropping
the retry contract for exactly the consumers this change exists to serve. The
remaining 24 needles Swoole matches are now held here. Swoole's check is kept
ahead of them so upstream additions still apply wherever the library is present.
The fixture asserted only that an unrelated exception was not classified as a
lost connection, which held either way. It now drives five real signatures plus
one unrelated message, and a second test runs it under
swoole.enable_library=Off, which the -n subprocess cannot reach.

getCacheBaseKeys() and getQueryCacheKey() identified an entry by cache name, hostname, namespace, tenant and collection. Two handles on one server that share a namespace but point at different databases therefore read and write the same entries, and cf7bf02 put collection definitions in reach of that by caching METADATA documents. A handle moved to another schema is then answered with the definition of the same collection id in the schema it came from, so the attributes it validates writes against are not the attributes the storage has. Ten tests across four scopes move a single handle between databases this way. The database goes into the key rather than back onto the exclusion 8d91c44 carried. Excluding METADATA replays SELECT * FROM _metadata on every document operation, which is the 3.5x to 7.6x cf7bf02 measured, and it leaves the same collision open for row documents. Pool reads the segment off its own state, so no connection is checked out to build a key. testCollectionDefinitionsAreScopedToTheirDatabase drives the property through the public API on all sixteen lanes: two databases, one namespace, one collection id, different attributes. Without the key segment the second database's definition answers the first database's read. testSetGlobalCollection took the tenant out of the key by fixed offset, which a new segment moves; it now finds it next to the marker it belongs to. The docblock said it "Ensures Permission is always registered". It does not, and never did -- the body removes and re-adds Tenancy and touches nothing else. The import of Hook\Permissions that went with the claim was never used either; it is removed here. This is not a cosmetic correction. Hook\Permissions is the only writer of the `_perms` side table, and nothing in the library registers it: a Database built without it produces rows whose `_permissions` JSON is intact and whose side table is empty, which reads as correct everywhere except the permission filter's join. A maintainer reading this method as a safety net is how a handle that never applied its hooks reached a production shard migration and made every documentSecurity collection unlistable to its owner.
