As discussed in #20. Raycast shows info only as an ⓘ icon, which is easy to miss, so a field's description is now visible:

  • A text or number field without a placeholder uses the description as its placeholder.
  • Any other field (a field with a placeholder, a date, a dropdown, a multi-select) shows the description as a line above it.

A blank description is ignored. Descriptions come from a script's inputs or from {{VALUE:name|label:...}} on a field without options.

Verification

  • npm test (93 passed, 4 new), npm run lint, npx tsc --noEmit, npm run build.
  • Ran against QuickAdd 2.30 with test descriptions on e2e-script-inputs and e2e-labeled-note. A number field got the description as its placeholder, a textarea with a placeholder and a dropdown got a line above, a |label: text field got the placeholder, and fields without descriptions were unchanged. Checked by hand in Raycast with the dev build.

placeholder; any other field shows the description as a line above it.

Merged, thank you! I rebased it onto the new extension/ layout (the extension moved into its own folder for the store submission, which is why your branch conflicted) and kept your commit as the author. It ships in the next store update.
