Restore the deprecated PairInterface.modify field and its use in connectIO, newSubIntfUniquify, and clone(). Restore the deprecated PairInterface.clone(PairInterface) named constructor. Both remain deprecated; they are kept so downstream code such as rohd_hcl's ready/valid transport still compiles. Add compatibility tests.
