Do not merge on its own. Merge together with the app releases that ship opt-in analytics: off-grid-ai/OGAM#737, off-grid-ai/mobile-pro#93, off-grid-ai/OGAD#213, off-grid-ai/desktop-pro#122. This copy says the event list is public in source and the App Store label is "Data Not Linked to You"; both are only true once the apps ship.

What changes

  • Privacy policy: new section 4, "Optional product analytics and crash reports": off by default, separate opt-in, PostHog Cloud EU (Frankfurt) as processor, what we collect and never collect, random anonymous ID reset on opt-out, IP not stored, consent as legal basis, 12-month retention, rights note. Later sections renumbered. Last updated 23 October 2026.
  • Terms: optional diagnostics point to the Privacy Policy; new feedback clause.
  • Product pages (mission, mobile and desktop FAQs, vision, recorder, home fine print), 8 essays (an open "we changed our mind" passage, not a quiet edit), 52 articles, guides, llms.txt: "no telemetry" becomes "your chats and files never leave your device; anonymous usage data and crash reports only if you turn them on".
  • _includes/pages and assets/preview are regenerated by npm run build:preview, not hand-edited.

Needs a lawyer before merge

Naming PostHog as processor and the DPA, the "cannot find or delete one person's events" line, consent wording, 12-month retention, the new feedback clause.

Summary by Gitar

  • Privacy policy:
    • Added section 4 on opt-in analytics and crash reports, with PostHog EU processor, retention, and consent basis
  • Copy and essays:
    • Product pages, articles, guides, and essays now say chats and files stay on device, with telemetry opt-in

This will update automatically on new commits.
