Superseded by #4047, which now owns the complete application workflow: creation, activation, diagnostics, and acceptance.
Current review order: #4042 → #4044 → #4047. Stack: https://github.com/dimensionalOS/dimos/stack/4064
Add
dimup init <directory> [--ref]to create an editable SDK application with two communicating image modules and a test. Resolve and pin the SDK commit, install all desktop extras except DDS, and persist uv-managed Python selection so cloned applications retain SQLite extension support. Manual activation and optional direnv use committed files and work afteruv sync --locked.Present SDK resolution as one stage, followed by project files, live
uv syncoutput, and application verification. Successful creation prints copyable activation/run commands, optional direnv activation, and the log path. Failures preserve the project and never print Ready. Init has no host-platform gate; manually prepared Arch Linux machines follow the same path.Validation: creation tests cover real Git metadata capture, live dependency output, failure preservation, narrow terminals, and quoted paths containing spaces/brackets. The final stack passes 54 focused tests and strict typing. A packaged creator installed and verified a real SDK application locally, resolving 427 packages and installing 417.
